I’ve been hinting at an adventure coming up for me this fall and now I can tell you a little more about it. The manufacturer of the R-Pod has just come out with a totally new design…the Model 196. This is the first redesign Forest River has done in the ten years since the R-Pod was first released. And, Forest River has very generously donated the very first Model 196 R-Pod off the line to the Girl Campers for our annual trailer raffle!!! Isn’t that exciting???
My good friend, Janine Pettit, will receive the camper in the next couple of weeks. She will be putting a Girl Camper spin on it with some beautiful interior decor. Then, the camper goes to the Hershey RV Show. Janine and I will be at the show on September 14th for a meet and greet and to show off our Girl Camper version of the new R-Pod. After that, we head to Setzer’s RV in Huntington, WV for the big reveal!
At that point, I take over and get to pull this camper wherever I want till the end of January…which of course means I’ll just HAVE to go where it’s warm over the winter! (And, yes…Mr. FixIt gets to come along…for at least part of the trip!) Stay tuned for lots of fun and excitement in the coming months! In the meantime, here is a sneak peek at the “before” in a video Janine made at the Forest River factory. This is a gorgeous camper and I can hardly wait to get her out there on the open road!!!

Oh my goodness! Hershey is within driving distance for me; I sure would be there to meet you (in person?) if I could. Homebound with my gem ?. Excellent news! ??

come to California–late fall is often our best weather, glorious sunsets, migrating birds, sea life galore, whale watching, winery harvest parties, lots of outdoor sports–hiking, biking, parasailing, ocean and bay kiyaking, birding. Plus if you take old route 66, you come through the lower tier of states and stay drier. Lots to do and see in Texas, New Mexico (Turquoise Trail!) Tucson and Phoenix, San Diego, Santa Barbara, Pismo Beach, Monterey, Napa…Yosemite! have fun planning wherever you go!

And don’t forget Oklahoma. Stop for lunch at Pops, see the blue whale and the round barn. Check out The Cowboy Hall of Fame and the National Museum and Memorial if the Murrah Building bombing. And much more.

Beautiful camper! She should be a sales rep because she did a great job of showcasing this sweet, little camper, especially with all of her extra tips! So excited for you, Ginny!?
Janine is the foremost spokesperson in the RV industry promoting solo women’s camping. Her organization…Girl Campers…educates women around the country on everything from finding the best way for YOU to camp to the inner workings of the camper itself. She’s a dynamo!!! ❤️
Well, if you go west, make a stop in Missouri, we have 2 RV plugs at the house and would love to see you. Sounds like a great adventure. I would love to travel in an RV, but Greg has to stop working so much. Have fun.
