Set up for our picnic!
We got a call yesterday that we may have been exposed to covid over the weekend. Thursday night I started getting a headache a little bit of a scratchy throat. I haven’t tested yet. It could just be from the cold front coming through or camping by the river, but if the symptoms continue or worsen, I’ll definitely test. We have no plans to go anywhere in this next few days anyway. We cancelled our trip to the dealership yesterday to pick up the a-frame and we’ll do that as soon as we can.
We spent the day just chilling. I knitted and Mr. FixIt cleaned out the truck. We tied the tarp down on the ‘67 Franklin. I keep telling myself I’ll fix it up one of these days, but alas…the days fly by and there it sits. It really should go to someone who has the time and talents to rebuild it. We have to stay home long enough to advertise it and sell it and that’s a bigger problem than fixing it ourselves.
Supper al Fresco
My sweetie and I had supper in front of the new camper again last night. It’s so pleasant to sit outside. Thursday night got down to 42° and let me tell you…it was a tad nippy in the camper! My little electric space heater is in the a-frame, I think. I do have an electric blanket I could bring out to the camper if I can find the cord. I added another puffy comforter so that ought to help. And, it was only predicted to get down to 51° last night, so maybe it won’t be so bad.
We walked around the perimeter of the far field last night after supper. There are tons of seed pods on the redbud that are almost ready to gather and save for planting next year. It’s a game of chance waiting for them because the critters in the woods are doing the same thing for culinary purposes. There were a lot of what looked like wild grapes everywhere. When you squeeze them, they look just like grapes, but I tasted a tiny bit on my tongue and they certainly don’t TASTE like grapes. They just tasted wild.
I’ve pulled out the winter socks!
We noticed several trees that have died in the last couple of years…most near the power lines to I’ll have to call to see if they’ll come remove them. I noticed a small area I missed when I mowed on Thursday afternoon so I jumped on the tractor and finished that off in a hurry. Thursday was the Autumnal Equinox…the first day of fall is here already. Where has this year gone? The days pass slowly but the years seem to fly, don’t they?
So, in honor of autumn, I have put on socks! My tootsies are thanking me.
