The last few months, I have passed a government facility going back and forth to town. I’ve always wanted to stop in and check it out. Yesterday was the day. What a beautiful building. The conservancy has purchased, or partially purchased, many islands in the northern Ohio River and have planted flood resistant trees, shored up eroding beaches, and worked to build up and preserve and protect natural flora and fauna. The nice gentleman at the desk told me that Middle Island is the only one in the system that you can drive your car onto. He gave me directions for access and I headed off for a nice little adventure. I spent the better part of an hour sitting alongside the river listening to a symphony of bird song. Now I want to come back with my kayak and circumnavigate the island.
I know, I know…I’m supposed to be out at the farm going through stuff and hauling it to town. I think there just might be a memorial bonfire instead.
I’ll bring the marshmallows!!!

“Then the angel showed me the river of the water of life, as clear as crystal, flowing from the throne of God and of the Lamb down the middle of the great street of the city. On each side of the river stood the tree of life, bearing twelve crops of fruit, yielding its fruit every month. And the leaves of the tree are for the healing of the nations.”
