The Journey

I've been thinking about this journey I've been on over the last couple of years. It hasn't been a straight path by any stretch of the imagination. It's all wiggly squiggly and brings me forward then back then forward again. And along the way there are a number of doors and little secret passageways that offer distractions from the course at hand. Some are really inviting. Some are definitely marked "Enter At Your Own Risk". And each has a gift tucked somewhere inside. An experience. An opportunity. A lesson to be learned.

Wonder Women

Women are amazing beings. We are fire and ice, blood and wine, satin and steel. We can do anything. Yet, I hate telling young girls they can be anything they want when they grow up because they have never considered it a possibility that they COULDN'T. I used to say that. Now, I prefer to encourage them to find their passion and go for it with everything they have in them.

Views of My Day: Rivers, Hills, & Candy

Big tugboat pushing 15 barges upriver.

This has been a busy and really FAST couple of weeks! The trip to Tennessee and bookend stayovers in Kentucky took me to Tuesday. Thursday was a quick overnight to the other side of the state. I no sooner got back into town late yesterday afternoon when the phone started ringing. Drinks and apps with one friend, several phone calls when I got home, then a later dinner with another group of friends. I have never socialized as much in my life as I have here in WV. I have met some of the nicest people and reconnected with friends from high school that I hadn't seen in years.

Good Vibes

I can always tell when my vibe is on the wrong frequency by who is coming into my life. I sincerely believe we attract the kind of energy we put out. I look at the people coming into my life lens and they invariably tell me where my brain is. When I'm in this really great space, I get these really great people who show up with cool energy that syncs with mine. When I'm off, or thinking negatively about someone or something, I can just about count on someone crotchety crossing my path. I mean, it's not always that way, but enough to see a pattern. Then there's days like today that make you scratch your head.

Live Every Day

I've been thinking about this YOLO mentality. You only live once. Absolutely NOT TRUE. Unless you've been resuscitated after a medical emergency, you only DIE once. Every day you wake up on the right side of the grass is an opportunity to live again. Every…single…day. What are you going to do with your time here? It doesn't last forever, you know. I've already wasted SO much of what I have been allotted. I could leave this restaurant that I'm sitting in as I write this and get hit by a bus. That makes this next hour really precious, doesn't it? So, I'll really enjoy this chili relleno and chips, I'll browse in the antique store next door, and look both ways when I cross the street.

Sisters #1 and #2

Well, this was a really fun week and hard to believe we're heading out on the road already. We'll stay in Kentucky tonight then on home tomorrow.

We got to spend time with Maurrie and Becky…the original Sisters, of Sisters on the Fly. They are the greatest girls and I'm proud to be their Sister.

My Travel Buddy's Trailer

Wow, what a day! Slow start then headed to the Country Living Fair. I didn't find anything for decorating my camper. I did, however, find a cute little summer dress. :-)

We've walked a hundred miles today! Ok, maybe not a hundred, but a lot! We're heading back to the park to prepare for the party tonight. BBQ and live music! Yeehaw!!!

Road Trip

My travel friend picked this place to camp the first night. She did good…it's beautiful! A little over halfway to Nashville!!!

"TOW-Wanda Grande" and "Crackin' Rosie"! Travel buddies!

Mmmmm…sautéed garlic mushrooms on veggie burgers with melted Brie. Divine!
