Heading home from Denver after three weeks on the road. What a gorgeous drive. Snow is in the forecast. I’m home for the next 9 days then meeting Mr. B in Vegas for a week. One of these days I’m going to have to work and earn some money like a real adult! I’ve given myself a year to recoup and gain my bearings. I’ve come a long way but there’s still further to go. I was just in Costco and there was a little music box playing Christmas carols and it made my heart ache. It’s the littlest things, isn’t it?

What a beautiful day! A friend of mine took this the other evening. Great camera and good eye. I love the colors on the water!

“Point Park at Sunset”

I love the Ohio River! When I was a little girl, I would lie in bed at night and listen to the tugboats and the lock masters communicate for passage. I used to dream I was on a raft like Huck Finn and head down the river on grand adventures.

Mr. B and I stopped this evening at Rubin’s Deli and got my FAVORITE sandwich (Hot Italian Hoagie, sauce ON of course). We came down here to eat and talk and watch the sunset. What a beautiful evening!

“Valley Hall School”

It may be difficult to read, but this is the sign over the entry to the school yard for Valley Hall School. It was a little one room school house that my mom and her siblings attended a mile or so from home. The building is standing, however it’s been converted to a weekend cabin of sorts. The swing is still at the back of the yard.

“Sisters on the Fly on CBS!!!”

I know this is REALLY late notice, but we just got word the segment filmed with the Sisters in Estes Park will be aired tomorrow, Friday 9/27 from 7-9am! We have no idea where in the show we will be so you can DVR or put your feet up with a cup of coffee and enjoy!!! I have no access to TV where I am but I just downloaded the CBS app on my iPad and it says I can watch full episodes so maybe I’ll catch it! :-)

“Misty Mountain Morning”

Love, love, LOVE misty Fall mornings! I arrived in Denver last night after a very LONG day. I could have gone home and started the trip this morning, but I am such a child at heart. When I’m going on a trip, I want to go n-o-w! I’m heading out on another nearly month long adventure, this time without TOW-Wanda. (I miss that li’l gal!) I got up this morning to the most beautiful misty rain. Reminds me of England. I’m hanging out at a very cool coffee shop in Cherry Creek. Ink! Great spicy green chili vegetarian burrito and really good coffee. Smoky undertones to it. I like it. Lots of folks out doing the same thing I am doing today. Conversation abounds! I’m heading to the medical office I used to work at on the off chance my doc can get away for lunch. Haven’t seen her in way too long!

“Mountain Lion”

This lion was trapped this week after killing an 80 pound goat a couple of miles from here. It weighed 130 pounds.

A few years ago, Mr. Virgo was out on the front porch at 3:30 in the morning having coffee before work. He heard a noise in front of the porch and stood up slowly only to see a mountain lion on the front lawn! He backed into the house and always turned the light on after that.

“Western Colorado Sunset”

I love “God moments.” When I get out of my car on Sunday mornings, I say a prayer between the parking lot and the door. It’s always the same. “Lord, please open my eyes and my ears, my heart, and my mind to Your Word. Let me learn from You and use that Knowledge in the coming week. Amen”

I haven’t been as involved with my church as I would like. Also, I’ve noticed the members don’t really go around and meet each other like they should. At the meet-and-greet coffee break, folks usually go visit with those they know. As I was heading in this morning, I got this very clear picture. I need to be a greeter! I’m a cheerleader. I’m a hugger. I’m happy and bubbly. I was BORN to do this! So…I added in my prayer “Oh, and Lord, let me greet Your children and welcome them into Your House.”

“Mr. Virgo’s Cross”

This is where I left Mr. Virgo’s lock of hair when I hiked into the wilderness this summer to say good-bye and leave him in the place he loved the most. As I have negotiated this path, I have come upon stumbling blocks which could have made me falter. It’s what we do with those stumbling blocks that determine our direction…up or down.

A few weeks ago, I realized I had not seen postings for awhile from a person I considered a friend and family member. After doing some investigation, I realized this person had not only unfriended me on FB, but had also disconnected from my children’s pages as well as Mr. Virgo’s. I was hurt and confused. I reached out, in the off chance that this was accidental and received no response. After giving it some time, I accepted that this person intentionally disconnected.

I took this photo this morning. I love how the misty clouds cling to the hillsides this time of year. We have had some rain but nothing like you are seeing on the news.
